The Purposed Trek

Keep me safe, O God, I've run for dear life to you. I say to God, "Be my Lord!" Without you, nothing makes sense.

May the Schwartz be with You

This past weekend I spent a good part of it reading. While I was reading there were times I couldn’t focus anymore so I would take breaks and do my dishes, clean up some, organize things and watch some shows/movies that I have PVRed (Tivo or DVR in America) over the past month or so. I like to keep a line-up going because some weekends I have nothing going on and it is nice to watch a movie you have been wanting to see. My line-up has been really long because I was in and out so much.

So last Saturday while I ate lunch and took a break from reading I selected to watch “Spaceballs”. In my opinion it is a classic Mel Brooks movie – poking fun at Star Wars, Star Trek, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White and many other movies. In lieu of Darth Vader you have Dark Helmet played by Rick Moranis, his right hand man is Colonel Sanders, and John Candy plays a huge Cheshire Cat character named Barf. Yoda is called Yogurt and he has the power of the Schwartz. It is really dumb and the story line is lame, but I laughed so hard because it reminded me of my childhood and how we would watch it over and over again because it was so stupid, yet made us laugh.

So may the Schwartz be with You as you go forth this weekend. I am hoping the Schwartz allows us to have power.
