Lights Out
As of late, you need a flashlight when you go the bathroom at my office. There is this thing in South Africa called “load shedding” and it happens often, usually for a short amount of time. Load shedding is when the power company turns off power to lessen the load in the grid in order to save electricity (and money). Lately, the office complex where I work is on a grid where it happens for hours at a time on a regular basis. So not only does it prevent you from doing projects where the Internet is required, but it causes the ladies bathroom to be incredible dark. So as soon as the power kicks off, I have a knee-jerk reaction and that is to stop drinking water until it comes back on because I don't typically carry a flash light with me to work.
And one other thing about the bathrooms at the office, they are in another building. So when it rains outside, I quit drinking water too, especially if I didn’t bring my raincoat with me.
This load shedding thing is just downright stupid. You can't get anything done! grrr....
