The Purposed Trek

Keep me safe, O God, I've run for dear life to you. I say to God, "Be my Lord!" Without you, nothing makes sense.

Temporary Life

26 January 2007

Everything in life is seems so temporary. Since I have returned everything is temporary from my home, to my job, to even my thinking. The good news is that I have a place to live, I have a job, I have a car, and I most importantly I have people who I love all around me. The job is great - it was originally a 6-week assignment for a investment firm in Bethesda, but it turns out they want me as long as I can stay. This is a huge blessing because I need to save up for the move ahead and everywhere I looked for work, people didn't want someone temporarily - every place wanted temp-to-hire. But a way was made... So no matter how temporary everything might be, it is the people around me that keep me grounded, along with God. So even though I can pack everything I own in my car, I am so blessed with awesome friends and family.

Stateside Update

14 January 2007

Well...I am back in the states and it has been a flurry of events since my return. Catching up with people has been wonderful and reminds me of how much I appreciate my friends and my family. I am currently living in Arlington with my cousins and their kids. This is a huge blessing...thanks Tish, Chris and kids. I am looking for work to keep things moving along and to save up. Many have been asking where my next destination is or where I am going to land and the answer is there, but the details are still being figured out. If you refere to my entry, Don't Plan on the Plan, you can read into my heart a bit and how things change if you allow it to. So NO Colorado, but YES to South Africa. I have had a heart for the continent for years and was a tad bit hesitant about allowing myself to be/live there. Well the time has come where I need to be there not just my heart. I will be volunteering with an organization that works with squatter camps, leaders and the children in Johannesburg and other cities in South Africa. The organization is Impact Africa and the founders are friends of mine from my Texas days. More will be shared once we have nailed things down. Timing is unknown right now as we are still working things out. In addition to that being the main thing I will be doing while over there, I will also be volunteering in an orphanage as well. That is my life update! I am amazed at the peace and confidence in moving to another country. Thanks for your encouragement, love and support. It is very vital to me and much appreciated. I will keep you posted.
