The Purposed Trek

Keep me safe, O God, I've run for dear life to you. I say to God, "Be my Lord!" Without you, nothing makes sense.

Movie Review

21 March 2008

In the past 2 nights I have seen 2 movies and I enjoyed both of them and recommend them for various reasons. Gotta love cheap ticket prices.

Step Up 2 the Streets I like this movie strictly for its' dancing talent. The plot is typical for a dance movie - the main character is from an environment that is less appealing and they come out of ahead through a dance competition and they win at various things in life in the end. My favorite character in this movie is one named Moose who is the nerdy boy that no one talks to or associates with. He has a great roll and has some great lines and unsuspecting dance moves. You do not need to have seen the first Step Up to get this movie.

Juno (there are some lines in this movie that need to come with warning and I don't recommend this movie to those under the age of 16) This movie is so creative and smart. I thoroughly enjoyed the dialogue and Ellen Paige did a phenomenal job in her roll. She was convincing from the opening scene. If you don't know much about this movie and what it is about, it is a 16 year old girl gets pregnant by her best friend (not boyfriend). I really enjoyed the parents roll in this movie - they had a great outlook and really accepted her regardless of the situation. And a bonus for this is the music that was put to it - appropriate and really fun. The soundtrack is now in my library.

Winter is on its' way

17 March 2008

So Thursday I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and flips...Friday I wore Jeans and a t-shirt and trail shoes and Saturday I didn't leave my house because I was frigid. It dropped from 80 degrees to 55 overnight. Now I know 55 isn't that cold, but when it is so sudden your body kind of freaks out. On top of the 55 degree weather there has been a constant rain and no sun for now 3 days straight.

So 4 hot baths later, wool socks, sweats, a hoodie, a cup of hot chocolate, a fleece blanket and a heater I am warming up. Thank you Jesus for all these great inventions to help us through the weather you have given us.

We have a team arriving Saturday and I just sent them an email out of warning that they might want to pack in layers and we might have to change our fun work project of painting the exterior of a classroom and putting on an Easter egg hunt to painting the interior of the classroom and "kids enjoy your eggs" as we pass them out.

Okay, Okay, Okay

I will continue blogging for my 15 fans. I will try and write more often, however the entries might not be very exciting or entertaining. I am going to start blogging a little bit more of everyday life and not just funny or interesting experiences that I have encountered.

Thanks to ALL my readers who have supported my decision to continue blogging and seriously don't feel any pressure to leave comments. That last post was to make sure there are readers out there.

Last night Michelle and I went to the movies for the whopping price of $1.10 - that is normal price at this theatre on Tuesday nights. We saw Fools Gold - it was an okay movie, nothing to exciting or entertaining and one of the characters is dumber than dumb and drove me nuts through the whole move and was thinking to myself - I really hope there aren't people out there that dumb.

Do You or Don't You?

Hey friends - I know I am not a consistent blogger, but honestly I am not really convinced that it is read by many based on the lack of comments I receive, therefore providing me no motivation to be creative.

I know you might just be one of those people who don't like leaving comments...like me :) So if you do read my blog and just don't leave comments can you this time just so I know whether it is worth it to continue blogging.

I have a secret number of comments that I need to reach in order to keep the blog going, so it is up to you.
